South Africa is the community's favourite safari-plus-city combination. Cape Town (The Silo Hotel, Ellerman House) + Singita Sabi Sand or &Beyond Phinda is the standard itinerary. Good thing with the day trip is that you won't leave Cape Town unless the weather in Antarctica is good, so at worst you might spend a few extra days more in Cape than bad weather ruining your very expensive multi day trip.

You could skip Cape Town and come straight here post-international flight to recalibrate (that’s what I did before my conference), or it makes a beautiful wind-down after a safari.
